Bockfest Weekend

This weekend I went to Bockfest at the Schell Brewery in New Ulm.  I had fun with pops and my sistah, but it was hard being away from little Sydney.  Thankfully Cherilyn sent me these pictures throughout the day.

This one was right in the morning after she had first woke up
Nap time
This one was my favorite.  It brightened up my day.
And then we have her first attempt at sitting in a Bumbo.  She's not quite there yet.

Mohmas morning off

Cherilyn had the morning off again today so I went in to the doctor to get my flu shot and a booster. I got to come home to two smilin' ladies and then we gave Sydney a bath. I like these pics so I wanted to share them now.

A Tale of Two Blowouts

Today I was pondering to myself..."Beth has so many poop stories. I wonder if I'll get to blog any poop stories"...And with that I jinxed myself. Not that this is nearly as good as any of Beth's poop stories. Like this one......Click here mom. .  So we were going about our business.  Cherilyn had this morning off so we got to sleep in.  It was so great, we were having so much fun.  Cherilyn dressed her in this fabulous outfit with a very small hat.

Outfit #1
Please note the picture subtitles, they will make more sense as we go.  Sydney was having a great time playing under the sea, and she didn't have to just listen to me sing the first line over and over again because I downloaded the actual song.  Hooray iTunes.  I was playing Red Dead Redemption for the first time in awhile and all was good.  Hooray Playstation!

What do they got? A lot of sand

We got a hot crustacean band

The eve of eruption
You'll notice that as I played she is on my lap.  I noticed a warm feeling localized directly under Sydney.  When I checked under her I discovered that she was fairly well soaked.  Then looking down at my jeans I noticed that I was too.  Fun times, Hooray PeePee!  So I went up and changed her.  During this process she is extremely happy.  Changing time is always her favorite time.  I noticed that the only thing that really got wet was her pants, so rather than change everything I put on new pants leaving the same (onesy, onzi, one-z, onesee?)  Does anyone know how to spell that?  Anyway here she is after that ordeal.

Outfit #1.33333 repeating of course

Leroy Jeeeeeeenkinsss!!

She seems fairly happy at this point

So after the costume change things were good once again.  At least for a 1/2 hour.  At this point she is screaming and inconsolable.  Now I'll mention that when I put on her pants they seemed extremely tight, but they were brand new from Old Navy and the tag said 6-12 months.  I had to roll them up 3 inches for her feet to stick out.  I was hoping that they were ok.  I even tried another pair of jeans that were also from Old Navy.  This would be outfit #1.66667.  Hooray Old Navy! Nope no huzzahs this time.  She was still cranky and uncomfortable.  I took off her pants and immediately was greeted by an expulsion of gas and liquidy solids.  Now the whole outfit was finished.  So for the betterment of us both I got rid of the pants and gave her a much more comfortable elephant outfit to wear.

Outfit #2

Hooray for Bowel Circulation
Expressing my true feelings about Old Navy
Everything was great after that.  But honestly Old Navy, do you expect infants to be anorexic?  Seriously my 3 month old can't wear something that is supposed to be good up to a year, and don't give me any of that "Well look how big you are Dave" junk.  That is a load of diaper filler. I think I'm done with Old Navy.  I found the Spider-man shirt for her there.  But otherwise they haven't been good to me over the years.  Normally my pants and shorts from there only last a few months before the pockets rip out.  Good Bye Old Navy.  I won't miss you.  With that I close my first poop story, and I can only hope that in the future my encounters with poo will be documented as wonderfully as Beth's.

G-pops gets giggly

I finally learned how to put videos on here. This is our favorite video so far. It's from the baptism weekend. Sydney was playing with G-pops and she was laughing like crazy. After a few minutes of enjoying the spectacle I realized that I should record it. So I was able to catch the last few giggles of the gigglefest. Enjoy.

Basketball is now officially over much to Sydney's chagrin. She loves watching the players run back and forth down the court. Yesterday she came to our team pizza party. The players played some teachers, but Sydney decided that she was hungry and followed that up with naptime. I guess she can tell the difference between a fair game and a blow out. Bingo and Michele and Garett

Last night we went to the Woodbury Middle School Bingo Night.  I hadn't played Bingo in at least 10 years probably more, but we went and hung out with Tad and Marge.  I just figured we would hang out and have a slim chance of winning some small prizes.  I was wrong.  I was immediately swept up into the frenzy of B14's and G53's that is Bingo.  I immediately bought 2 more boards, so I had 3 going at once.  BINGO!!  We were sitting in the back of the room so I got to run up to the stage getting high fives from all my adoring former students.  When the next game started I got it again but the prize was smashburger so I got to yell that.  SMASH BURGER!!!!  This time the high fives were noticeably absent and in fact there were a few boos from my former not so loving students.  We had a great time and if this is what Bingo is like then sign me up.  I don't need to wait for retirement and adult diapers.  I don't have any pictures of this but here is a random cute picture of Sydney.
BINGO!!!
Tonight Michele and Garett came over for dinner.  They weren't able to come over for the baptism party because of the blizzard on Sunday.  We had a nice dinner of Famous Dave's and their fabulous cornbread.  Mmmmm cornbread, ain't nothin wrong with that.  It was fun hanging out with them.  I think I'm allowed to say this now...They are also expecting in September.  Cherilyn got to share all her books with Michele and Garett and I hung out and talked about beer brewing and our aging sports careers.  It was a good time.  I don't think I had seen Garett for quite awhile.  Hopefully we'll be playing some racketball.....raquetball....I don't know how to spell it.  I missed out on the pictures again too so here are a few more random pictures.

Month old Wachtography

Day two as a Manny started out pretty rough.  I played basketball this morning and therefore was covered in wonderful stink.  I wanted to shower and was hoping that Sydney would sit in her monkey chair and play with "Owl"ivia.  However I made a colossal mistake.  I picked her up to give her a kiss.  Now anytime I put her down she immediately starts to cry.  Perhaps it's my fabulous odor and perhaps it's her gassyness, but as I write this we look something like this.
Okay, I gave her a bottle and it's an hour after I started this, but she is finally asleep and I now smell of Swagger instead of hairy muskrat.  She still refuses her crib, but accepted the vibrating bouncy chair.  Anyways on to the subject for this entry.  On Wednesday Sydney turned 3 months old.  So far at every month milestone we have had Nikolaus Otto Wachter-Scheifelben come over and take pictures.  Nik took the Baptism pics as the 3 month pictures so those will be coming soon.  However I neglected to put up the 2 month pictures that he took.  A few of them are our attempt at the Luther magazine but then I forgot to send them to Luther too.  Here is the 2 month Wachtography.

Stop! Manny Time!

Well the time is here.  Today I am starting my new job as a stay at home pops, or as Chris puts it a man nanny or a Manny.  My last day teaching and coaching was Wednesday.  So now I get to be home with Sydney.  This weekend we had family and friends over for Sydney's baptism.  We'll be getting the pictures for that soon.  Since Cherilyn went back to work last Thursday Nana Wicks was here to help out while we were both working.  Nana helped me to plan out a weekly menu, and she's been an extremely comfortable nap spot for Sydney as you'll see from the pictures.  I'm looking forward to being home with Sydney, and here are some pics from today.

Fun Times with Nana

The best nap spot in the entire G Unit

She loves being under the sea.  Especially when I sing the first line of the Little Mermaid song.....because I can't remember anything besides the first line of that song.

A huge smile for Daddy's first day as a Manny

Almost as comfy as Nana

Practicing my Manny shushing skills.

Showing off her cute new outfit.  We can only go shopping once a month now as per Momma's rule.  Only 5 more days until we can hit Carter's again!

Daddy is teaching her so much about facial expressions
