We started in Glenwood and have made it to Grinnell so far. We have seen heat, hotness, hellfire, and even two infernos so far this year. But through it all Sydney has had fun meeting Dahles, Hills, and cousins. Tomorrow she will see the Stechers and Herrings in good ole Coralville. There is more to come soon.

Nana Quickstop
We are prepping for Ragbrai. I just got the map my ride app which is really quite useful. It tells me the elevations and speeds on my rides. They came out with a version specifically for Ragbrai which should help the support crew to see exactly where we are at all times. Nana came up yesterday to switch cars with us so that we could have the large cargo capacity of the passat on the ride with us rather than the prius. Sydney enjoyed the Nana time. They came out to our softball game last night. It was probably the two worst games of the year due to the humidity everyone was pretty fatigued and the softball was mush. But Sydney is very excited for the good times coming up next week.

A Rookie at Target Field
I'd like to preface this by saying that it has been very hot and humid for the last few days. Sunday at our softball game I had sweat through my shirt about 30 seconds after getting out of the car. However our team is no longer winless. We pulled a victory out of the humid air.
So then on Monday with the weather slightly hotter and just as humid Sydney and I set out for Target Field so she could see her first Major League game. Thankfully we had a spot in the shade for the whole game. Cherilyn got off work at noon so she came to the game later in the 4th inning. We had a great time cheering for the Twins and meeting other fans. She was happy throughout the whole game until the 9th inning. I attribute her crankiness to the fact that the Twins were getting spanked and the closer gave up a homerun in the final inning. Thanks Ann for the tickets. We had a great time.
Ragbrai is fast approaching. I've been getting out on the bike in the mornings. We are looking forward to a fun week going across Iowa. Nana is coming up tomorrow to switch cars with us, and of course to see Sydney.

New Toys and Bananas
This week we got Sydney a few new toys. When we visiting Callie it seemed like Sydney enjoyed the small spherical toys so I got her a set of 5 balls that each had different things inside of them. I also got a set of soft blocks for her. She thinks it's hilarious when I try to juggle them. Also this week we are adding fruit to the menu. So far she's tried Bananas and today she had Apples. I think she liked the apples better than the bananas but she has yet to really turn away food when it's presented.
