Sydney Marie and the Terrific, Wonderful, Action-Packed, Very Good Day

Today is full of adventure and awesome sauce.  To start out the day we went in for Sydney's 4 month checkup.  Sydney did very well, as did Cherilyn.  I had some trouble with the shots but the nurse gave me a lolly and a sticker and I feel better now.  Sydney is 17lbs 5 oz and 26 inches long.  That is 95th percentile in both categories.  Her head size is right at 50%.  Sorry Callie, not everyone can imitate a bowling ball quite like you can. Now that we're home we are jammimg out to the new Foo Fighters album, which is quite spectacular.  Then we'll be going out for another walk when Sydney wakes up from her nap.  Here are a few pics from our walk yesterday.

Tonight Cherilyn and I will be going to Target Field for the first time to see the Twins/Royals game.  I have been a Royals fan since birth.  I can still remember going to Royals (now Kauffman) Stadium and having pops point at one of the black silhouettes that I could see on the field saying "Look it's George Brett".  I'm hoping we can go to a game later in the summer and bring Sydney with us but as of right now it's too cold at the night games for her.  So she'll be experiencing her first babysitting session.  Shelley a nurse that works with Cherilyn that lives in Woodbury is going to be babysitting her while we are at the game.  I have been looking forward to this for awhile.  Not only going to the game, but seeing the Royals play a team that is lower than they are in the standings.  It's amazing.  So here is Sydney in her new baseball gear.  Don't be alarmed, her Royals stuff is in the mail.

Wait a minute

This isn't the right team

Perfect fit

No! Don't take it away

Happy Birthday Uncle Dan

Today we want to wish Uncle Dan a Happy Birthday.  We are looking forward to seeing him next month for his graduation from law school.  It will also be Sydney's first adventure on an airplane.  I'll be interested to see how it goes especially because 2 weeks after that we'll be flying to Washington to visit Nate.  Happy Birthday Dan!

Then here are my other attempts at saying happy birthday

Tickling Sydney

Spring Outing!

Yay for Spring!  Almost all of the snow is now gone after a week of 50+ degree weather. Twins Baseball has started.  Softball is right around the corner.  Most importantly we were able to take Sydney outside for the first time this week!  We broke out the stroller on Friday to enjoy a sunny near 60 degree walk.  I think she liked it, but was a bit overwhelmed by the smells, sights, sounds, and movement of strolling around the neighborhood.  We did decide that we need to get her some little sun glasses and a wide brimmed hat.  Luckily the stroller has a very versatile sun shade attached that did the job of keeping the sun out of her face for now.  We did not get any pictures of this event, but here are some more fun shots from this weekend.

Bath Time!

"What is that?  I want to eat it!"

Another pretty spring outfit to match my pretty smile.

Daddy is hilarious.

Again Daddy is very hilarious.

Lounging in my Bumbo wishing the kitty would come a little closer.

I love eating my hand.

Fun with Mommy.

Getting better at tummy time.

Who is that baby down there?

The Snow Tried, But It Failed

I think the spring clothing is working.  Sunday she wore not one, but two dresses.  She wore a turquoise one to church, and she decided that she wanted to change and peed all over it.  So instead she wore her mohma's favorite color Purple.  She didn't pee on this new dress but she did discover that it tasted fabulous and as a result showed off her belly.

Monday morning it started to snow.  So I decided that as soon as Sydney woke up she would wear yet another dress.  Immediately it stopped snowing.  Just the threat of a spring dress is enough to scare away the weather.  Hopefully it will be nice enough to go for a walk soon.  We attempted a walk but it was too cold and windy and Sydney made it about a block before informing us of the flaw in our decision.

Sydney has enjoyed basketball since she was just a few weeks old.  She came to many of the games that I coached at the middle school.  Tonight we tried to put her to bed at about 8, and it seemed like she was asleep.  Until we turned on the NCAA finals.  She woke up and demanded to watch Butler and UConn play.  She's obviously a huge fan of Brad Stevens and the Butler Bulldogs.  When she saw how terrible they were playing shooting only 18%, she changed her mind and went to bed.  She's already a connoisseur of the game.  Preferring to watch the high caliber, fast-moving games at Woodbury Middle School.

So in summary, we have 3 dresses so far.  With many more to come.
Dress One "The Yellow Number"
Dress Two "The Urine Sponge"
Dress Three "Mohma's Favorite"

The rest are Nana fodder.  Enjoy

Oops, I caught her mid spit up

It's Springtime!

I've come to the point where my psychological battle with winter is at the breaking point.  Winter has teased me too many times.  Winter was winding down, snow was starting to melt and then on her baptism weekend it dumped snow on us again.  Then we had a nice week where I actually put away my winter coat.  Then it snowed some more.  Now the snow is practically gone, but the forecast says there will be a wintry mix.  Nope.  I deny winter.  It's April now so I've decided to break out my secret weapon against winter.  That of course is Sydney.  We are breaking out the spring clothes.  Not even winter would do anything if we all start dressing in spring clothes.  My previous trips to Carter's to get clothes usually end up with me buying quite a few dresses and spring outfits.  They've been forlornly hanging in the closet up until now.  No Longer!  We went to Carter's again last night and now all of the clothes are in the wash so that we can wear them.  Take that Winter.

All dressed up in her Friday Finest

Hooray for Spring clothes!

Dresses are Awesome!
I don't like snow. Go Away Winter!
