Milestones

Today we hit 3 different milestones.  Milestone 1: She has recovered from her first big cold.  She had a fever the last few days, but this morning she was playing like she normally does.  I'll miss all the extra cuddling.  Milestone 2: We have confirmed and identified Sydney's poop face.  This leads us to Milestone 3: Sydney pooped in the bathtub for the first time.  Cherilyn noticed the peculiar face and then sure enough, Boom!  Unfortunately for everyone, Cherilyn wouldn't let me document this particular milestone with a few pictures.  I'm sure I'll  get more opportunities to capture events like these for posterity.  On the plus side, no dirty diaper.  There's always a silver lining

Daddy's Nightmare

I didn't think I would have to worry about Sydney and boys until she was a teenager.  Unfortunately for my mental well being she is already kissing boys.  Now I'll have to be more vigilant about all those devious 3 year olds at daycare.

Sydney and SeaLife

On Sunday Cherilyn decided that she wanted to do something fun with Sydney.  We had wanted to go the the aquarium at the Mall of America for awhile.  So we sucked it up and went.  After at least a year of avoiding the MOA I was instantly reminded why I don't like going there.  After 15-20 minutes of restraining my road rage and resisting the urge to drive directly into the mall, we found a parking spot.  Apparently there was an up and coming boy band performing at the mall that day.  My girls on the basketball team informed me that they are "dreamy".  Sydney enjoyed seeing all the people at the mall, and all the cool fish in the aquarium.  One part of the aquarium is a tunnel and the fish swim all around and over the top of you.  Of course you had to pass through the gift shop in order to get to the exit.  We decided that Sydney couldn't part with Swirly the Octopus and Blinky the Sea Turtle. We had a lot of fun, and will have to go again when Sydney is older.

Walking 101

I've tried to capture Sydney walking on video many times now.  She has been able to take steps for a few weeks now.  However whenever we try to get her to walk to one of us she usually tries to dive and face plant in front of us.  She's gotten much better at walking, but she is best when she doesn't realize she's walking.  She can absentmindedly walk across the room while she is distracted by a toy no problem.  But if she notices that she's walking she'll drop down and start crawling.  This video is a decent example of her walking and her face planting abilities.
