At first Cherilyn didn't drink the Halloween Kool-Aid. She thought it was silly to spend $20 on a costume she will only wear once. She was being very logical after my accident. But then she saw the different costumes at the store when she was supposed to be buying formula. She was overcome by the cuteness and adorability. All logic was thrown out the window by the prospect of Sydney dressing up as a princess or a pirate or a pirate princess. (Don't worry Hannah. We won't steal your pirate princess costume.) But after much deliberation Cherilyn made her decision. Sydney was now destined to become a cow. Here are the cute pictures of Sydney in her costume.
But in reality...This is how she really felt about the costume.
We discovered that the seams on the inside of the feet were very stiff and irritating. So it was no wonder that she was displeased with the costume.
She definitely had her moments. She really enjoyed seeing all the other kids coming to the door in their costumes. No matter how much she was shouting her bovine displeasure, if there was a knock on the door she was ready to greet them.

Banana Faced 11 month old
Sydney's favorite food by far is bananas. If we game her an entire banana and walked away I'm sure that she would eat 3/4ths of it and smear the rest of it in her hair. It doesn't matter how much food she has already eaten. There is always more room for an entire banana. She's got extra room in her stomach now that she is 11 months old. As you can see in the second to last picture she likes to offer food to us as we are feeding her. She doesn't always give it to us. Sometimes she will put a puff in my hand and then take it right back and eat it. But she shoved peas in my mouth for a few minutes the other night and thought it was the most hilarious thing since G-Pops.

Sydney Steps
Sydney is starting to be able to take steps when supported. We got her a push cart thingy that plays music awhile ago, and she really likes to play with the different musical instruments. Thankfully it is not very annoying unlike most toys that make noise. Especially a certain Sesame Street radio that had no off switch and may or may not have ended up in the trash can on trash day. I can still hear Cookie Monster shouting "PLAY IT AGAIN, PLAY IT AGAIN, PLAY IT AGAIN PLAY IT AGAIN!!!!" *shudder* But I digress, she is now starting to push as she stands behind the cart. She's been pulling herself up for awhile but being able to step while pushing is a new development.
Catslam
Sydney was bodyslamming herself across the cat repeatedly the other night. I enjoyed it thoroughly since I've become less enamored with the walking fuzzballs as of late. Unfortunately we didn't think of recording it for posterity until she had done it about 10 times already and was getting tired of doing it. Just imagine Sydney throwing herself across the cat repeatedly and continuously like she does once in each of these videos. And no matter what Cherilyn says in the first one, the cat was not enjoying it. He's just not intelligent enough to move out of the way. Enjoy.

Big Girl Seat
Sydney is now too long for her infant car seat. She still has to sit in a rear facing seat until she is 12 months, but the time has come for a new car seat. She seems to enjoy it so far. However the best part is the box. We've kept it because she enjoys it so much. She pulls herself up and bangs toys on top of the box, and she chases and corners cats inside of it as well. Maybe we should have just gotten a box earlier.
Super Farm Team Assemble!
Nathan and Sarah visited us last weekend. It was a lot of fun to see both of them. Nathan was trying to recruit Sydney for future farming. I'm sure she'll be very good at digging up potatoes next season. We also went out to breakfast with them and Nancy and Jeff as well. They were impressed with how much Sydney has grown and how many teeth she has now. Plus she is starting to eat table food. She enjoyed hashbrowns and some pancake from Mohma's plate.
