Happy first mother's day Cherilyn. So far today I made muffins for breakfast before we went to church. Sydney behaved well in the service and then we went out for lunch. Tonight we have another softball game. Hopefully we will have enough people show up this time. At lunch we got to see Sydney demonstrating her desire to eat big girl food. She was sitting on both of our laps and grabbing at anything we tried to put in our mouths. Even if it was out of her reach. Similar to how a snake unhinges it's jaw to eat, Sydney seemingly unhinged her shoulder to reach all the way across the table and grab things like my coffee, Cherilyn's fork, or a napkin. We thought the napkin wouldn't be a big deal until she took a bite of the napkin. Luckily she didn't appreciate the flavor of those napkins and made a face spitting it back out. On the way home we got her some Sweet Potatoes, Green Beans and Squash. We'll see how those go when Sydney wakes up from her nap. Happy Mother's Day Cherilyn, and Nana and Nanette!

Sydney's New Talents
Lately Sydney has been grabbing her feet whenever we are changing her diaper. She loves grabbing her feet and eventually she puts her feet in her mouth. She can't do this when she has her bulky diaper on, so as soon as the diaper comes off, up go the feet. I would take a picture of this but Sydney is way too modest for such pictures. Her other talent involves spurting, which you can see in the video. She does this as she sleeps and it is hilarious hearing it through the monitor in the middle of the night. Spurting has also led to her discovery that her tongue can stick out which is very cute.

T.W.I.S.
This Wednesday in Softball was Sydney's first Softball game. She was all decked out for the warmer but still windy day. This time we did get to play two games! The first team was in first place but they really didn't play like it. We started off slow but got it going and won 13 - 6. The second team seemed tougher but we had the bats going and held them off. It seemed closer than 26 - 17, but I'd rather never be complacent. Sydney helped me hit a line drive home run in that second game too. Nik was there to cheer us on and was able to take a few pics of the action.

Back to the Sweetness
I have been out with a cold for the last few days which has caused me to procrastinate on many many planned posts. I admit I have also been playing Batman:Arkham Asylum which is an engrossing game. These pics are from the last few days that Nana and G-Pops were here last week. Nana and I went to Carters and were very successful in our endeavor. We also got to go to a Twins game with G-Pops. The game wasn't great but Target Field is wonderful. Here's the pics, There's more to come!

T.W.I.S.
This week in Softball was pretty cold. Way too cold for Sydney to attend her first game. Luckily on Wednesday Nana was here to babysit. The temperature was probably in the low 40's or so. We have doubleheaders for the mens team on Wednesdays and our first game was at 6. Most of our team showed up at 5:30 to warm up since it was so cold. It was a bad sign when none of the other teams players had shown up by 6. So we got the forfeit win and just hit around until our next game started. At 6:30, 5 players from the other team showed up and wondered why the game was forfeit. For some reason the ump didn't reverse his decision. Our second game we actually got to play. If you ask Chris it was his pitching that won the game. Even though he did walk their pitcher. We started off slow with the bats, but warmed up as we played. Nik played well at 3rd base but had 2 baserunning errors forgetting that you don't need to tag up on a ground ball. Our last inning I got a single that the left fielder misplayed, allowing 2 runs to score and advancing me to second. Then Joel stepped on the plate during his at bat for an out, but we had taken the lead with my hit and we won the game. Starting off with a 2-0 record.
In the Doctor League on Sunday the weather was even worse. May 1st it snowed lightly. The temp was in the 30's so Chris was gracious enough to babysit Sydney even though I offhandedly mentioned how lucky he was that he could buy Callie hats and she would be able to wear them the rest of her life due to her adult sized head. He mentioned something similar about Sydney and how chubby she is but then he realized that she would be bigger than him when she is 8 years old and would probably be able to beat him up. Anyway, I had trouble getting rsvp's for the game and as it turned out only 7 people showed up to play. So we lost the forfeit. Thankfully the other team had about 27 people there and even after most of their team left they could still field a team and we played a few innings. I think this team will be much better than last year. In one of our innings with 7 people batting we scored 10 runs. I'm looking forward to this much more than last year. Have a good week everybody.
